Our story
Sometimes life comes full circle. ModVilla was first imagined in Mumbai in 2014, a small collection of wall hangings and decor gathered from artisans across India. Those early years were full of enthusiasm, but life took its turns, and ModVilla quietly slipped into memory: the domain lapsed, the social handles went still.
In 2020, after marriage and a move to Delhi, the idea found new soil. Encouraged by my husband, Sparsh Gupta, I turned a small room in our flat into a workshop. For nine months I shaped, broke and remade pieces, photographing each one and asking whether it matched the ModVilla I could picture. We spent a good part of our savings finding the answer. When it came, the name from 2014 returned to our conversations, and this time ModVilla was not a collection but a craft: bespoke pieces, made to order.
